Product Description

The Jeerige Midi Pickle (also known as Jeerige Appe Midi Uppinakayi) is a highly prized, traditional pickle originating from the Malenadu and Western Ghats regions of Karnataka, India. Its distinctive identity stems from the use of a rare, specific variety of tender mango known as Jeerige Midi (or Jeera Midi). This particular mango is small, oblong, and is celebrated for its unique, intense aroma and flavor that remarkably resembles cumin seeds (jeerige or jeera in Kannada), even before pickling. The entire, uncut baby mango (referred to as midi or midiyanga), including a small part of its stalk, is used for pickling, as the seed inside is still soft and undeveloped.

Title: 🥭 Jeerige Midi: The Cumin-Scented Mango Pickle! 🌶️

Forget everything you know about mango pickles. Jeerige Midi is a rare, tender mango from the Karnataka Western Ghats that naturally smells and tastes like cumin (jeera)!

The secret? It's pickled whole, including the stalk, using a meticulous, 40-60 day brine-curing process with rock salt before it even meets the spice blend. This traditional method ensures a deeply aromatic, tangy, and crunchy delicacy that lasts for years. A true taste of Malenadu heritage!
